Bee Keeping in Depth.
When you are able to make your own honey ,it’s worth the effort when it all pays off. Bee keeping can either be looked at as a hobby or as business venture depending on why you are doing it. In a colony there are different types of bees , the worker bees are responsible for the production of honey. When a colony is started the workers begin by building combs where the young will be reared and also the storage of honey. The worker bees go around flowers collecting nectar from one flower to another and this makes them pollinate the flowers in the process. The nectar in different flowers will have different substances in them that makes them very beneficial to the human health who use honey. Bees produce enzymes from their bodies that makes them turn the sucrose into glucose and fructose that in turn makes the honey.
The enzyme glucose oxidase takes a small portion of the glucose and converts it into gluconic acid and hydrogen peroxide. The acid has some benefit to the honey because its presence makes the honey made resistant to bacteria , fungi and mold. The hydrogen peroxide provides the honey with short term protection as it ripens or made ready for the larvae to be consumed as food. Different jars of honey will have different colors and tastes , this will be because the nectar influences both color and taste. Certain colors of honey might look more attractive more than others but the color does not affect the quality of the honey in any way.
Bee keeping has proven to be very lucrative for those who approach it in the right way. Bee keeping does not limit you to make money from the honey alone, if you are creative enough you can make money from literally every product of the entire process. With a creative marketing team you can make money from pollination services where you offer you offer your bees to farmers for a fee. The market for honey combs and wax still exists and you stand to make money with such products as well.
